Purpose
of position: This position provides administrative coordination and
support for the Faith Mennonite Church pastor and office.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinates all aspects
of the church office.
Generates and edits
documents including the weekly email update and Sunday bulletin & other
reports as directed by the pastor.
Manages e-mail receiving
and sending.
Delivers & processes
incoming & outgoing mail & packages.
Manages the church
events calendar, the building use calendar, and responds to requests for
building use.
Maintains and updates the
church’s website.
Inventories and orders
office supplies; places orders for cleaning supplies as directed by custodian.
Files church documents
in accordance with office procedures.
Manages back-up of
computer files.
Maintains accurate
congregational data.
Administers the
maintenance of office equipment such as printers & computers and reports
maintenance problems to the appropriate party, i.e. pastor / trustees.
Reports any building
maintenance problems to the appropriate party, i.e. trustees.
Other duties as
assigned.

Skills / job knowledge:
Previous administrative
experience and demonstrated office management skills.
Strong interpersonal
& communication skills
Able to handle and
prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
Excellent word
processing skills with high degree of accuracy
Proficient with
Microsoft Word and Excel
Familiarity with website
editing preferred
Able to maintain the
confidentiality necessary for the pastor & church office
Position
available: May
2010 12
hrs / week – occasionally more hours as required
