Part-time Administrative Coordinator

Purpose of position:  This position provides administrative coordination and support for the Faith Mennonite Church pastor and office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all aspects of the church office.
  • Generates and edits documents including the weekly email update and Sunday bulletin & other reports as directed by the pastor.
  • Manages e-mail receiving and sending.
  • Delivers & processes incoming & outgoing mail & packages.
  • Manages the church events calendar, the building use calendar, and responds to requests for building use.
  • Maintains and updates the church’s website.
  • Inventories and orders office supplies; places orders for cleaning supplies as directed by custodian.
  • Files church documents in accordance with office procedures.
  • Manages back-up of computer files.
  • Maintains accurate congregational data.
  • Administers the maintenance of office equipment such as printers & computers and reports maintenance problems to the appropriate party, i.e. pastor / trustees.
  • Reports any building maintenance problems to the appropriate party, i.e. trustees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The above job description is a general summary of duties typically performed in this position.  It is not all-inclusive and is not an employment contract.  Faith Mennonite church employees are expected to perform duties as assigned by the pastor or trustees.

 

Skills / job knowledge:

  • Previous administrative experience and demonstrated office management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
  • Excellent word processing skills with high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with website editing preferred
  • Able to maintain the confidentiality necessary for the pastor & church office

 

Position available:            May 2010            12 hrs / week – occasionally more hours as required
