Joetta Schlabach graduated from Goshen (IN) College and spent seven years working with Mennonite Central Committee, including assignments in Nicaragua and Honduras.  She later received an MA in Family Economics & Management from Michigan State University and an MA in Theology/Certificate in Pastoral Ministry from the College of St. Catherine.  She authored Extending the Table: A World Community Cookbook. Prior to entering formal ministry she worked in academic and program administration at the University of Notre Dame, Bluffton (OH) University, and the College of St. Catherine.  She is married to Gerald Schlabach and has two sons, Gabriel and Jacob.

Kathleen Remund, Minister Staff Person

Kathleen Remund is a 25-year resident of Seward neighborhood and a longtime member of the Community of St. Martin. She is deeply committed to peacemaking and reconciliation and has worked both professionally and as a volunteer with a variety of social change-oriented nonprofits. She received her M.Div. degree from United Theological Seminary in 2006 and is moving towards ordination in the United Church of Christ. In addition to her work for Faith Mennonite, Kathleen serves as the church relations coordinator at United Theological Seminary. She is also a member of the fund raising board for the Nonviolent Peaceforce.

Kathleen and her children (along with their cat and dog) live just down the street from Faith Mennonite. Her son, Per, is a second year student at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. Her daughter, Ella, is a freshman at South High.

Dan Leisen, Office Assistant

Dan, along with his family, has been a member of Faith Church for over twenty years. As a graphic artist, he was quickly enlisted to create bulletin covers and church promotion pieces. Dan also volunteers his graphic services to several non-profit groups including Ten Thousand Villages and the Twin Cities Mennonite Relief Sale.

Michelle Hutchins, Building Custodian
Michelle is a jack of many trades, including photography assistant, school bus driver, interior and exterior painting, landscaping, and she is active in neighborhood and school activities.

Meagan O'Brien, Nursery Staff Coordinator
In addition to extensive experience as a nanny and working with children in South Korea, Meagan is accomplished in bicycle maintenance and repair, organic gardening, and roasting fair trade coffee.
