Faith Mennonite Church supports the following Brethren Mennonite Council for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Interests cultivates an inclusive church and society and cares for the Mennonite and Brethren lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied community. Faith Mennonite provides office space and financial support for BMC, and is a member of the Supportive Congregations Network. Community Emergency Service seeks to support individuals and families in times of crisis. We support this organization and refer community members in need to them for support. They provide support for funerals, utilities, bus money, food, clothing, and referral service. The Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches operates a family of social service programs to help families living in poverty. Faith Mennonite financially supports GMCC.
Families Moving Forward provides temporary emergency shelter, permanent affordable housing and supportive services to low income families with children. One of our members volunteers in the FMF Day Center. ISAIAH organizes faith communities to advocate for issues of justice. ISAIAH’s offices are located within Faith Mennonite’s building.
STAR-Minneapolis hosts trauma healing workshops for professional, paraprofessional, and lay caregivers and leaders to promote healing, revitalize communities, and stop cycles of victimhood and violence. STAR-Minneapolis invites contributions to their scholarship fund to ensure a wide diversity of participants. Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit store in St. Paul which sells fair-trade products. Church members volunteer in the store and on the Board of Directors. Twin Cities Mennonite Central Committee Relief Sale is a festival and sale that raises money for Mennonite Central Committee. Many church members volunteer to coordinate and staff the sale. Wilderness Wind located near Ely, Minnesota, nurtures relationships to God and creation through wilderness experiences that promote spirituality, cooperation and environmental sustainability. Church members serve on the Board of Directors, volunteer at the camp, and participate in events . |
