The nursery at Faith Mennonite Church serves families with children from infancy (able to sit independently) through age 5. During the worship service, the nursery is staffed by a paid nursery coordinator and two church volunteers each week. Parents may take children to the nursery before the worship service begins, or they may keep the children with them for the opening portion of the service which includes a children’s time.
The time in the nursery consists of a free-play time in which children can engage in a variety of activities. We have an optional weekly craft, as well as a variety of puzzles, blocks, animal toys, house-play toys, and many more. We usually have a story-time that gives us a chance to engage together as a group and talk about what we’ve done over the week, how the seasons are changing, or let Dr. Seuss take us on zany adventures.
If you are concerned with separation anxiety or other issues, please feel free to talk to the nursery coordinator. We make every effort to make those transitions as easy as possible. Parents are welcome to stay with their child in the nursery throughout the service, or to attend the service knowing that we will come and find them should their child have a difficult day.
We strive to make the nursery a safe, nurturing and peaceful place. We welcome you and your children to join us.
